About Plan Co.

Plan Co. NZ Ltd was established in 2016 by director Mark Weingarth.

Mark worked in Local Government in New Zealand for nine years holding a variety of planning positions before establishing himself as part of the management team within Auckland Council's resource consent department.

Prior to arriving in NZ, Mark worked for four years in the UK as a Planner and Senior Planner in the private and public sector. Working on major developments in the UK, as well as overseeing the redevelopment of brownfield land around the periphery of London to ensure maximum development opportunities were obtained whilst maintaining the on-going amenity for neighbours, residents and users of the area.

On his arrival in NZ in 2007, Mark started work as a planner, gaining a broad and thorough understanding of the Resource Management Act (RMA), as well as the demands and needs of applicants, developers and those operating in the construction industry. Marks understanding of the complexities of planning in New Zealand and the challenges posed by the RMA resulted in rapid progression through the ranks at Auckland City and Auckland Council, holding positions of Planner, Intermediate Planner, Senior Planner, Team Leader and Lead Consent & Performance Specialist before incorporating Plan Co.

During a planning career at the coal face of regulatory work, Mark has established a reputation as a solution focused and pragmatic solver of potential hold-ups. Mark quickly understands the needs and aspirations of those he works with and is quick to identify areas of contention yet remains focused on solutions to help his clients achieve successful and positive outcomes.
