This was The Warehouse NZ's first venture into mixed use development rather than providing their more traditional big box format retail stores. The proposal involved up to 34 apartment units over three stories located above a new private road that would contain smaller retail activities, cafe and food options as well as access to the new Warehouse store. Overseeing the resource consent management of this project for Auckland Council Mark was also required to coordinate and attend joint public hearings for the resource consent and associated plan change to rezone part of the site and adjacent sites from residential to business zone. This saw significant time and cost savings for all involved in the process and streamlined the decision making process for Auckland Council.
